Topher Grace is David Duke in new film from Spike Lee and Jordan Peele

Topher Grace (Topher Grace!) is Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard David Duke in BlacKkKlansman, the upcoming film written and directed by Spike Lee and produced by Get Out filmmaker and Key & Peele cofounder Jordan Peele.

Based on the memoir from Colorado Springs' first Black detective (not the Chappelle's Show sketch), the film follows Detective Ron Stallworth (John David Washington, son of Denzel), infiltrating the Ku Klux Klan in the 1970s with the help of an undercover cop (Adam Driver).

The real-life Stallworth's book Black Klansman: Race, Hate, and the Undercover Investigation of a Lifetime chronicles his investigation, with his partner going undercover as Stallworth while the real Stallworth worked behind the scenes and on the phone. Over several months, the investigation exposed the depths of white supremacist violence, influence and integration, including in the military.

Duke looms prominently in the trailer, even leading a toast of "America first" and "white power."

The film premiered at Cannes Film Festival this week; it's set for wide release Aug. 10.
