Comedy in New Orleans this week (April 16, 2018)

Here's a look at this week's comedy calendar: improv and drag, two nights of Hart of the City auditions, an insult comedy competition, The Rip-off Show and a whole lot more standup, sketch and improv.

Monday

MAKE UP: improv + drag is at AllWays Lounge at 8:30 p.m., featuring performances from Annie Bacterial, Mz. Asa Metric, Dolly Pardon?, Gayle King Kong, Laveau Contraire, Napoleon Complex, Precious Ephemera, Quinn Laroux and Tarah Cards.

Chris Lane hosts Comic Strip with standup comedians and burlesque performers at 9:30 p.m. at Siberia.

Tuesday

Cyrus Cooper and Vincent Zambon host standup comics at Comedy Beast at the Howlin' Wolf Den at 8:30 p.m. Free admission.

Cassidy Henehan hosts the standup comedy showcase Comedy Catastrophe at Lost Love Lounge at 10 p.m. Free admission.

There are two standup comedy shows at the Old Opera House at 8 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Free admission.

Wednesday

Kevin Hart's Hart of the City audition performances are at 8 p.m. at the Ice Pit inside the  Orpheum Theater, with Matt Owens, Shaddy McCoy, Red Bean, Geneva Hughes, Shervey, Corey Mack, Jackie Jenkins Jr, Kamari Stevens, Allison Hotard and Mike Honore. Boogie B hosts. Tickets $12.

Lane Lonion and Marcus Bond host insult comedy competition Beefin' at 8 p.m. at Hi-Ho Lounge.

Leon Blanda hosts the standup showcase Comedy Gold at Big Mama's Lounge at the House of Blues at 7 p.m.

Comedian Jeff D’s Comedy Cabaret features comedy and drag performances at Oz on Bourbon at 10 p.m.

Thursday

Kevin Hart's Hart of the City audition performances are at 8 p.m. at the Ice Pit inside the Orpheum Theater with standup comics Mario P., Tony Fredrick, Carissa Cropper, Mark Caesar, Jeremy Gumbo Christian, Laura Sanders, Comedian AO, Josh Watts, Rude Jude and Howard Hall. Boogie B hosts. Tickets $12.

Black Girl Giggles presents Sketch on These Heauxs at 8 p.m. at Hi-Ho Lounge, featuring performances from Ashleigh Branch, Brionne Bagneris, Nkechi Chibueze, Rochelle McConico, Denise Moore and Saya Zeno Meads with host Camille Roane. Free admission.

Standup showcase Night Church is at Sidney's Saloon at 8:30 p.m. Free admission (and free ice cream).

Friday

Improv groups Catfish, Blackheart and Lump perform at Just This Once at  NOLA Spaces at 7:30 p.m. Admission $7.

Bob Murrell hosts an album release party for Hey, It's Bob, with performances from the comic as well as Kaye The Beast and others at 8 p.m. at Hi-Ho Lounge. Free admission.

Vincent Zambon hosts the Comedy Fuck Yeah standup showcase at Dragon's Den at 8:30 p.m. Free admission.

Double D headlines Funny Friday at 8 p.m. at Pelican Bay, with comedians DC Black and Shervey with host Shaddy "Feelgood" McCoy.

Half Baked: Stoned Storytelling and Improv Comedy is at 9:30 p.m. at The New Movement.

Saturday

Lauren Malara hosts The Variety Show at 8 p.m. at the Church of Yoga, with poetry from Kyle Smith, a solo performance from Nkechi Chibueze, clowning from Darci Fulcher and Mack Guillory, music from Brionne Bagneris, standup comedy from Jade Brontè, Byron Broussard, B Dub Get Paid, Addy Najera and Alex Luchun, sketch from Riot & Pitts, and improv from Live Girls, Jay Tombstone and Lynae LeBlanc.

Geoffrey Gauchet and Isaac Kozell host Wait, What? A Comedy Drinking Game at 9 p.m. at Seahorse Saloon.

Standup showcase Local Uproar is at the AllWays Lounge at 8:30 p.m. Free admission (and free ice cream).

Standup comedy showcase All Jokes Aside is at Breaux Carre at 8:30 p.m.

Sunday

Geoffrey Gauchet hosts comedy gameshow The Rip-off Show at Hi-Ho Lounge at 6:30 p.m. with comics Eric Dreiblatt and Lianna Patch.

Open mics
