Mediterranean restaurant Byblos will open its newest location Wednesday in Uptown.

The new spot, the fifth for the locally run chain, is taking over the space at 737 Octavia St., on the corner of Magazine Street. That space was home to the restaurant Flaming Torch until a fire forced it to close last year.

The new location offers a different fast-casual approach, in which guests order through an assembly line process, and grab-and-go and pre-packaged meals also are available. Diners will find a familiar spread of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern dishes such as hummus, falafel, beef, chicken and vegetable kebabs.

The Mediterranean restaurant also has locations on in Metairie on Metairie Road and the food court at Lakeside Shopping Center, and inside Tulane University’s campus food court.
