Here's this week's rundown of standup, open-mics, sketch and variety shows, from emergency contraception fundraisers to drunk storytelling.


JFunny hosts Yaheardme Comedy Party Part 2 at 7:30 p.m. at Favela Chic (2106 Chartres St.) featuring Mark Caesar, Geneva Joy, Marcus Bond and Abby Isaacoff. Tickets $10 (with half-price admission for NOPD).

Xander Bilyk and Briana Augustus host The XX Comedy Show featuring comics Amanda G, Jane Banks, Tekesha Fairley, Byron Broussard and Kamari Stevens and poets Kyle Smith and Jonathan Penton at 8 p.m. at Bar Redux.

The Louisiana Foundation Against Sexual Assault hosts a Plan B Fundraiser with comics Laura Sanders, Geneva Joy Hughes, Mary-Devon Dupuy and others with burlesque performances and more at 8 p.m. at Sidney's Saloon. Admission $10, with all proceeds benefiting the purchase of emergency contraception.

Chris Lane hosts Comic Strip with standup comedians and burlesque performers at 9:30 p.m. at Siberia.


Cyrus Cooper and Vincent Zambon host standup comics at Comedy Beast at the Howlin' Wolf Den at 8:30 p.m. Free admission.

Cassidy Henehan hosts the standup comedy showcase Comedy Catastrophe at Lost Love Lounge at 10 p.m. Free admission.


Leon Blanda hosts the standup showcase Comedy Gold at Big Mama's Lounge at the House of Blues at 7 p.m.


Mickey Henehan headlines standup comedy showcase Night Church at Sidney's Saloon at 8:30 p.m., with Chris Damon, Bobby Buds, Sean Murphy, Byron Broussard, Yourgo Artsitas and Camille Roane. Free admission (and free ice cream).

Comedian Jeff D’s Comedy Cabaret features comedy and drag performances at Oz on Bourbon at 10 p.m.


Black Girl Giggles hosts headliner Lauren Malara with comics Jazz, Nkechi Chibueze, Sanita Cherise and Lakisha "Lotus B" Brown at 7 p.m. at Poor Boys.

All-women sketch comedy group Virginia's Harem performs at 8 p.m. at the Valiant Theatre & Lounge with improv group Live Girls.

Vincent Zambon hosts the Comedy Fuck Yeah standup showcase at Dragon's Den at 8:30 p.m. Free admission.

An Evening with Swoggle: A Comedy Event features WWW star Swoggle and guests at 9:30 p.m. at the AllWays Lounge. Tickets $15.


Andrew Healan hosts drunk story storytelling show Close Me Out returning to the Hi-Ho Lounge at 8 p.m. Admission $5.

Eric Dreiblatt hosts All Jokes Aside at 8:30 p.m. at Brieux Carre with comics Marcus Bond, Geneva Joy, AJ Bell, Yourgo Artsitas, Omar Finley and Abby Isaacoff.

Jessica Hong headlines the standup comedy showcase Local Uproar, hosted by Paul Oswell and Benjamin Hoffman at AllWays Lounge at 8:30 p.m., with Chris Damon, Bobby Buds, Geoffrey Gauchet, Michael Clayton, Hagan Chase Ragland and Joseph Coker. Free admission (and free ice cream).
