Singer-songwriter Ryan Adams will lead the "Exile on Bourbon Street" concert, a tribute to the Rolling Stones' landmark album Exile on Main St
., May 5 at the Saenger Theatre.
Blackbird Presents and producer Don Was have been behind a series of tribute concerts featuring all-star lineups that fall around the time of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. They have included the "Musical Mojo of Dr. John" and a 40th anniversary salute to The Band's The Last Waltz
Was worked with the Rolling Stone on its 1994 album Voodoo Lounge
and subsequent projects. He produced and re-mixed a reissue of Exile on Main St.
The full lineup for the concert has not been announced.
Adams is a former member of the alt-country group Whiskeytown and is best known for his solo career. He's released more than 15 albums and worked extensively as a producer.
Tickets for "Exile on Bourbon Street" go on sale April 2.
