Leon Blanda hosts the standup showcase Comedy Gold at Big Mama's Lounge at the House of Blues at 7 p.m.


Joe Rogan performs two sets at the Mahalia Jackson Theater at 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. Tickets $42.

Chicago's VHS Comedy with comedian Tom Wisdom is at this week's Night Church at Sidney's Saloon at 8:30 p.m. Comics Laura Sanders, Kamari Stevens, Paul Oswell and Benjamin Hoffman are on the bill. Free admission (and free ice cream).

Comedian Kyle Smith hosts The Countdown variety show with comedy, music and more at 14 Parishes at 9 p.m. Admission $5.

Comedian Jeff D’s Comedy Cabaret features comedy and drag performances at Oz on Bourbon at 10 p.m.


Duncan Pace and Paul Oswell present the International House of Puncakes pun-off at 8 p.m. at Hi-Ho Lounge, with Isaac Kozell, Lauren Malara and others. Free admission.

Vincent Zambon hosts the Comedy Fuck Yeah standup showcase at Dragon's Den at 8:30 p.m. Free admission.

Shaddy "Feelgood" McCoy hosts Funny Friday with headliner Cleatis Allen Jr. and Toya Free at 8 p.m. at The 59th on Bullard Avenue.

Varla Jean Merman and Deven Green perform at 8 p.m. at Cafe Istanbul.


Comedian Anthony Scontrino headlines this week's Local Uproar standup series at 8 p.m. at AllWays Lounge. Laura Meagher, Frederick Charles Mead and others are also on the bill with hosts Paul Oswell and Benjamin Hoffman. Free admission (and free ice cream).
