After an explosive worldwide introduction through NPR's Tiny Desk series, powerhouse New Orleans outfit Tank and the Bangas has taken its dynamic live show on the road — captured on its first release on esteemed jazz label Verve through its nonjazz imprint Verve Forecast.
In a statement, label CEO Danny Bennett said “you only have to experience Tank and the Bangas perform live to understand why they are exploding on the music scene worldwide and why they are on everyone’s short list of artists to watch. Their artistry makes it crystal clear what the future of music has in store and embodies everything that the Verve Label Group hopes to achieve.”
Recorded at New Orleans' own Gasa Gasa, Live Vibes will be released on Record Store Day on April 21. The six-song album includes the band's Tiny Desk hit "Quick" and powerful, genre-spanning crowd favorite "Boxes and Squares." The live album teases the release of the band's first full-length for the label, Think Tank.
Tank and the Bangas performs April 27 at Tipitina's and May 4 at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and the Civic Theatre.
