Bryan "Baby" Williams, aka Birdman, narrates his life story and the genesis of the global phenomenon Cash Money Records in a new documentary out Feb. 16 via Apple.
Before Anythang: The Cash Money Story also is the first release under the Cash Money Films imprint, spinning off from the New Orleans rap label that sparked careers for Lil Wayne, Juvenile, B.G. and Turk, with house producer Mannie Fresh, later expanding with Young Money artists Nicki Minaj and Drake and turning the Williams brothers' label into an immensely lucrative, culturally influential empire.
The film "explores the journey of one of the most successful rap label owner and entrepreneurs in modern music history," chronicling Williams from "the death of his mother when he was a small child to learning how to hustle at the feet of his father; from the streets of New Orleans to traveling the world."
