(8207 Oak St., 504-273-7706) is celebrating its first anniversary next week with a series of daily specials. Kicking off is former Gautreau’s chef and James Beard award-winner Sue Zemanick
, who is popping up with a soup showcase 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22.
The menu for Sue’s Soups includes a tomato basil version with Benton’s bacon, goat cheese and ciabatta croutons, Hungarian cauliflower soup with paprika, dumplings and creme fraiche, French onion soup with Gruyere crostini, and a coconut red curry and with winter squash, spicy greens and garlicky cashews. Soups are available by the pint or quart.
