Creole and Italian spot Batture has closed in the Riverbend.
Riverbend restaurant Batture (632 S. Carrollton Ave.) closed six months after opening.
The casual Creole and Italian restaurant, which moved into the building formerly occupied by O’Henry’s, closed at the end of the year. But the corner building won't sit empty long. A new ramen and poke concept will be opening there next month, the new owners said Wednesday.
Owner Tony Cheng, who once operated Sake Cafe locations in Metairie and Uptown, says the new casual Asian restaurant, which remains to be named, will likely open in February.
No word on what caused Batture to shutter. A call for comment was not returned.
