Since 2013, the Louisiana Craft Brewers Guild has organized a week in September to recognize the state's growing beer industry. With many new and emerging breweries, Louisiana has much to celebrate. Breweries and bars will host festivities Sept. 17-23 to highlight the beer scene.

The Avenue Pub (1732 St. Charles Ave., 504-586-9243) regularly serves a selection of beers from Louisiana breweries. Here are a few of the events happening at Avenue Pub during Louisiana Craft Beer Week.

Sept. 17 Louisiana Craft Beer Week kickoff with Bayou Teche
Bayou Teche Brewing will serve cochon de lait and boudin and there will be several special Bayou Teche brews on tap.

Sept. 18 Urban South Frieze milkshake IPA
The latest in Urban South Brewery's Architecture series, Frieze, will be on tap. In addition to the hazy IPA brewed with lactose, there will be two special versions, one with strawberry added and one with pineapple added.

Sept. 21 NOLA Brewing Company specials
A lineup of limited-release beers will be on tap, including a Berliner Weisse with mango and guava, a dunkel lager and a new batch of Syncopation IPA.

Sept. 23 Zwanze Day
In addition to the annual release of Zwanze beer from Cantillon in Belgium, the Avenue Pub will offer a selection of NOLA Brewing's sour brews, such as Humid Nature, made in collaboration with San Diego's Modern Times, and Piety, a cherry sour beer.
