  • Chef Justin Devillier will open a new restaurant in the French Quarter.

La Petite Grocery’s Justin Devillier will open a new restaurant in the French Quarter, a rep for the restaurant confirmed Tuesday (June 13).

The new spot, from Devillier and his business partner and wife Mia Freiberger-Devillier, will be modeled on a French brasserie and will be located in the historic Hurwitz Mintz building on Chartres Street, according to the rep.

No word yet on when the restaurant will open or what it will be called; according to the rep for the company, the project is still “in its infancy.”

The new spot will be the third restaurant for the team, who also run the elegant La Petite Grocery Uptown on Magazine Street and the more casual bistro Balise on Carondelet Street in the Warehouse District.

Devillier has been a strong presence in the New Orleans dining scene and was the winner of the James Beard Award for Best Chef: South in 2016.
