  • Mizado Latin Kitchen will remain open, after all.

Mizado Latin Kitchen (5080 Pontchartrain Blvd., 504-885-5555), the Mid-City Mexican restaurant and margarita hub that announced its impending shutter just a few weeks ago, will stay open after all.

The restaurant’s owners made the announcement Thursday in a news release, saying the restaurant had experienced “an overwhelmingly high demand” after news broke of the June 4 closing.

“With an incredible influx of patronage since recently announcing its plan to close, Mizado will continue to serve the community with modified hours of operation, accommodating staff appropriately," the statement said.

The restaurant is open 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

Salon Restaurant by Sucre (622 Conti St., 504-267-7098), chef Tariq Hanna’s posh French Quarter restaurant and tea lounge, is changing its hours and eliminating dinner service.

The restaurant opened in Spring 2015 upstairs from the confectioner’s pastry and sweet shop on Conti Street. The restaurant will be open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday through Monday for brunch, lunch and tea service. On those days, it will offer a happy hour from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with $6 food and drink specials, according to a release.

What else is in the works for the evening hours is unclear, but there may be themed dinners, pop-ups and private events.

The restaurant also announced it will close from May 29 to June 8.
