Warehouse District Mexican restaurant La Casita will close May 20.
(634 Julia St.), the Warehouse District Mexican restaurant and happy hour hub, will close Saturday, May 20.
The restaurant, known for its happy hour margarita specials and creative tacos, made the announcement Wednesday in a press release.
“The concept of La Casita is nothing that is bound to geography, but to our customers and their tastes,” owner and founder John Michael Wade said in a prepared statement. “While our Julia St. property was the beginning of our experience, it is certainly not the end. Stay tuned to see what we have coming up next."
No changes appear to be afoot at the group’s second location, which opened last year
on Oak Street in the former Squeal BBQ spot. It has a more expansive menu than the original location.
News of the restaurant’s shutter comes just one week after owners of the Mexican and Latin restaurant Mizado announced it will also close
on June 4, to be replaced by a Zea Rotisserie and Grill in fall.
