Chris Gethard to perform at Tulane April 20

Comedian and actor Chris Gethard performs a free show at Tulane University on Thursday, April 20.

Gethard — star of the public access-turned-cult-cable-hit The Chris Gethard Show — brings his acclaimed off-Broadway one-man show Career Suicide to HBO on May 6, produced by Judd Apatow. He also starred in Mike Birbiglia's 2016 film Don't Think Twice and as Ilana's pathetic boss Todd on Broad City, among other TV and film appearances. Gethard also hosts the popular Earwolf podcast Beautiful Stories from Anonymous People, during which he invites a caller to spend an hour on the phone to pretty much talk about whatever.

Comedian Emily Hellerwho filmed her Comedy Central half-hour special at the Civic Theatre in 2016 — will open.

The show is at 8 p.m. inside Tulane's Lavin-Bernick Center Kendall Cram Lecture Hall. Doors open at 7:15 p.m. for Tulane staff and students and 7:30 p.m. for the non-Tulanian public.
