Chef Jason Klutts is the new executive chef at Kingfish.
Jason Klutts has been tapped to helm the kitchen at French Quarter bistro Kingfish
(337 Chartres St., 504-598-5005), according to a release from the restaurant group Creole Cuisine Restaurant Concepts.
The shift comes a few weeks after Nathan Richard — who took over the Kingfish kitchen after Greg Sonnier departed in 2015 — left to become the executive chef at Cavan
“We are thrilled to have Chef Jason join us at Kingfish,” Creole Cuisine CEO Marv Ammari said in prepared statement. “He is an innovative chef, and we are excited for him to bring his fresh, original ideas to the table.”
Klutts is a Louisiana native who was the longtime Cure & Co. He worked most recently at Cafe Henri in Bywater. Klutts left that restaurant in December when Chicago chef Alfredo Nogueira was hired. Klutts previously worked in New York and Chicago, including as a sous chef at Jean Georges’ The Mark and chef de cuisine at Monument Lane.
