Wine of the Week

2007 Rudolf Muller Riesling

Pfalz, Germany / $9-$11 Retail

The largest wine region in Germany, the Pfalz stretches across 50 miles bordered by France on the south. This well-crafted, dry-style Riesling is a bargain. Fresh, crisp and clean on the palate, the wine exhibits apple, pear and peach flavors and mineral character. The fruit is balanced by rousing acidity. It pairs well with spicy Asian cuisine, shellfish, cream-based soups and sauces, salads and lighter dishes. Buy it at: Whole Foods Markets and Rouses in Uptown. Drink it at: Besh Steakhouse, La Côte Brasserie, Feelings Café and Hip Stix Asian Kitchen. (Store listings current at press time.) — Brenda Maitland
