Fifty percent of the grapes for this vintage were sourced from the winery's home base in the Rutherford AVA (American Viticultural Area) and blended with Cabernet fruit from Oakville, Atlas Peak and Napa. Aged 18 months in 38 percent new American oak, the wine exhibits complexity and a firm tannin structure. Aromas of black currants, blackberries, pepper and spice lead into more ripe black fruit, cocoa and mocha on the palate. For the best results, decant an hour before serving.
