Wine of the Week


Justin Baldwin has been producing outstanding, bold Cabernets and Bordeaux blends from his Central Coast estate for more than 25 years, and this Syrah is no slacker either. After aging for 18 months in oak barrels, the inky colored wine offers intense gamey, earthy, black fruit aromas with smoky undertones of pepper and bacon fat. In the mouth, the wine's complexity is revealed amid dried berry and cassis flavors with a touch of spice and elegant, firm tannins. A pleasing, lengthy finish lingers on the palate. Drink now and over the next four to six years. It's a good choice to pair with roast game or meats, steak, cassoulet and other hardy dishes.
