Wine of the Week


It's not that often that a southern Rhone-style wine is made from 100 percent Syrah, but then that's not the only unusual aspect of this bottling. It is produced from grapes harvested from old vines and presents a terrific value. Medium- to full-bodied, this well-made wine offers complexity, strong varietal character, a good texture and a long finish. On the nose, black fruits prevail with nuances of earth, meat and tobacco followed by ripe black plum and cassis, subtle spices and black pepper. Drink now and over the next three to five years.
