Wine of the Week

Mendoza, the heart of ArgentinaÕs rapidly escalating wine industry, lies just across ChileÕs western border stretching along the foothills of the Andes Mountains. The name on this value-priced label reflects the wineryÕs street address in the prized Lujan de Cuyo subregion, which is home to high-quality small lot production. Aged eight months in new American and French oak, the wine offers vigorous aromas of black fruit followed by plum, blackberry, currant and spice notes on the palate. A well-structured wine. Drink over the next three to five years. Good with steaks, chops and hardy stews. Where to buy it: Sip Wine Market, Good Earth Market on the Northshore. Where to drink it: LeParvenu, Bella Fresca on the north shore. (Listings current at press time.)
