Made in the Veneto, a sub-region of the Tre Venezie, the wine is named for Soave (suave in Italian), a hillside town just east of Verona. Once dismissed as a stereotypical, mass-produced Italian wine, savvy producers like the Tamellini Brothers are bottling liquid gold with these impressive wines. Made from 100 percent Garganega grapes, the wine offers delicate, fragrant aromas of yellow apple with hints of apricot. On the palate, an appley character can be detected with almond and minerally notes on the clean finish. Serve as an aperitif, with light pasta dishes, fish and shellfish and semi-soft cheeses.
