Wine of the Week




Although recognized for super Sauvignon Blancs and Pinot Noirs, New Zealand's Marlborough producers are turning out award-winning Chardonnays such as this Silver Medalist in the recent "Best Chardonnays in the World" competition in Burgundy. Fermentation was split between French Oar Barriques and cooled stainless-steel tanks. The wine rested on its lees (from spent yeast) for seven months before blending. In the glass, aromas of peaches, pineapples and vanilla evoke a tropical bouquet followed by rich, creamy butterscotch and papaya fruit flavors on the palate.
