In Oregon's Willamette Valley, RouteStock pinot noir and other grapes had a great growing year in 2014. Spring was warm and minimal rainfall provoked an early bud break. Warm weather continued and harvest began in early September. This lush pinot noir was crafted by members of one of the area's earliest wine-producing families. It's named for Oregon Route 99W, established in 1930 as part of the Pacific Coast Highway that winds through some of Willamette's most noteworthy vineyards. In the cellar, the wine was vinified, racked in one-year-old French oak barrels and aged six months. In the glass, the wine exudes aromas of cranberry, raspberry, savory notes and baking spice. On the palate, taste red cherry, plum, red currant, a touch of earthiness, oaky notes and good acidity. Decant 15 minutes before serving.
