Supagroup CD-Release Party

'We're Supagroup from New Orleans, La., and we're here to kick your ass!" So opens Fire for Hire, the first release in two years from New Orleans' favorite hard-rock hedonists. The long-haired Lee brothers and company are back, with two years' worth of crunchy, powered-up blues riffs, guitar kicks, granite beats and all-around feel-good beer-soaked mayhem saved up and spat out on the new album " 10 pounds of rock stuffed into a 5-pound sack that overflows with awesome. Like a Berlitz record on how to fluently speak rock 'n' roll, Fire for Hire " which was written following a post-Katrina tour opening for Alice Cooper " hits all the primal signifiers: booze, broads and blues in delicious, overindulgent, puke-on-yourself-and-drive-faster abundance. They may be arena rockers sans stadium, but close your eyes during the show and you're at the Hollywood Bowl. No doubt, so are they. Way High Men open. Tickets $10. " Alison Fensterstock
