Here's a stat for you: How many STATs does New Orleans have? Five, as of last week, when Mayor Mitch Landrieu's Office of Performance and Accountability created CustomerServiceSTAT, a new measuring tool designed to improve citizen interactions with the city's 311 line, permitting and licensure and land use issues. It will be held on the first Thursday of every month; the first was held last week and the next will be Nov. 7.
"STATs" are one of Landrieu's tools to track progress on various city initiatives. The other five are: BlightSTAT (second Thursdays), QualityofLifeSTAT (third Thursdays), BottomLineSTAT (fourth Thursdays) and ReqtoCheckSTAT (tracking requisitions for contracted services, held quarterly).
STAT meetings are open to the public.
