The Web site maintains an ever-expanding directory of local businesses as a free service to all New Orleanians.

Sip and shop at a special Girls' Night Out trunk show event, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, at Feet First (4119 Magazine St., 899-6800). Enjoy free wine and martinis from Martin Wine Cellar as you get a look at the goods from Style Lab for Men, NOLA Couture, Basin Street Music, MIDO Creations and Michele Norris Designs.

Saks is Back! Boasting 11 new boutiques, the newly reopened Saks Fifth Avenue (The Shops at Canal Place, 333 Canal St., 524-22oo) is truly a sight to behold. Celebrate Pet Awareness Day Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 2 on the 4200 block of Magazine Street at Hugh Martin Home (4222 Magazine St., 899-1882) and Ms. Spratt's (4206 Magazine St., 891-0063). There will be raffles, pet adoptions, sales on pet accessories and a visit from Santa Paws. Donations to benefit the St. Francis Animal Society will be accepted. Tulane University's Newcomb Art Gallery and Newcomb Art Department will host their annual Holiday Art Sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Dec. 1 -2. Held on campus in the Woldenberg Art Center's Carroll Art Gallery, the shopping event features hand-blown glass ornaments, ceramic sculptures, limited-edition prints, jewelry and photographs made by art department faculty, students and alumni. There will be a special preview party for Newcomb Art League members from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 30. Those interested in early shopping may purchase an individual membership to the league for $35 that evening. For more information, call 314-2228.
