The weather inside is delightful for children at Lakeside Shopping Center (3301 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie), where snow is in the forecast nightly from Nov. 17-Dec. 24. (It's actually water-based, biodegradable, non-toxic Magic Snow, but the kids don't need to know all that.) The first snowfall will take place at Santa's arrival on Friday, Nov. 17, with a special children's program featuring Frosty the Snowman, the Gingerbread Man, A Toy Soldier Band, characters on stilts and more. The North Pole Express Train will welcome aboard its first passengers of the season. Catch the snow Monday-Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 5 p.m. For more information, visit www.lakesideshopping.com.
