The New Orleans Botanical Garden (1 Palm Drive, City Park, 483-9386) has opened a retail nursery that sells plants, shrubs, vines, perennials and annuals to the public. It's open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. There is no admission charge to get into the garden and sales area, but donations are appreciated. The Botanical Garden suffered major damages from Hurricane Katrina, and the Pelican Greenhouses, which produce plants for the garden, lost their entire plant inventory. The Botanical Garden plans to restore those facilities with financial assistance from the Garden Club of Virginia. Funds from the sale of plants will be used to support the local Botanical Garden. For more information, call 483-9386.
