The Candy Land Ball is an annual child-focused costume dance party that features food, drinks, dancing, a silent auction, and you guessed it: tons of candy. The event is hosted by Confetti Kids, Inc., a nonprofit volunteer organization that launched in 2000 to build a safe children’s playground park in Algiers Point. Today, the organization continues to maintain parks and host free, fun children’s events throughout the year.
This year, Confetti Kids is raising funds for park #3 in Old Algiers, an area considered to be a park desert. All proceeds from the Candy Land Ball will go toward this new park.
The event, which will be held Sept. 16 at Mardi Gras World Westbank (233 Newton Street), includes a DJ and dancing, crafts and face painting, raffle contests, and will be catered for both adults and kids’ tastes. Tickets provide access to an all-you-can eat buffet of food and candy, cotton candy, cakes, lemonade, and beer & wine.
A silent auction features artwork, summer camp packages, club memberships, vacation packages, restaurant gift certificates and more.
