The New Orleans Parish Chapter of the Alliance for Good Government has rescheduled its "campaign kick-off cocktail party" for 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 16, at Axel's Bonaparte Place, 3900 Tulane Ave. The $10 admission includes hors d'oeuvres and soft drinks.
Originally scheduled for Sept. 11, the political get-together was postponed after the terrorist attacks. Robert Moffett, president of the group and a local lawyer, says of this week's event: "Anyone interested in the political process in Orleans Parish is invited to attend."
With the Oct. 20 referendum on Mayor Marc Morial's quest for a third term just days away, there will be no lack of topics for political gossips. Qualifying for the Feb. 2 election citywide elections does not begin until mid-December.
