Quotas for posting at NOLA.com? Jim Amoss, vice president of content, sent a letter to all "content employees" (aka reporters) recently regarding mandatory "Performance Management Process" (or "PMP") meetings.
"Our organization's current and future business objectives require an increased focus on improved performance and talent development," the letter said, adding that the meetings would offer a chance to "discuss how your performance can positively impact your pay."
Last year, a "Staff Performance Measurement & Development Specialist" position was created. The job description included monitoring reporters' and editors' "amount of content created each day." At the time, staffers had sent an open letter to top NOLA Media Group management asking, "Will there be quotas for online entries?" The letter was never answered. — Kevin Allman
