Here's a neat trick — on the heels of Belle & Sebastian's New Orleans appearance, the band's opener Men I Trust is running a parallel tour with Montreal's Anemone as its opening act, which detours from that tour to headline its own run of dates. The band — Chloe Soldevila's French disco, draped in lush layers of crushed velour synthesizers and percussive dance pop — returns to New Orleans for a second time in 2018, with this date following the band's lush April debut Baby Only You & I (Luminelle Records). As the title track gently fades into its elopement-chapel organ and a motorik beat, Soldevila confesses to the magnetic pull of her desire and the weight of love, a boomerang-like magic trick she thought she abandoned only to return twice as hard. "I want to show you how I feel," she sings. "Show you how our love is worth the goodbye." Seductive post-punk performance artist Boyish Charm and Cliff Hines' electronic project KLYPH opens.
