Nonna Randazzo's comes to Mandeville



  Bakery and king cake specialist Nonna Randazzo's (www.nonnas- is opening a new location in Mandeville (22022 Marshall Road, 985-898-2444). For two months, the space has been home to the business' baking operations and has supplied locations in Covington (2033 N. Hwy. 190, Suite 5, 985-893-1488) and Chalmette (925 E. Judge Perez Drive, Suite 2, 504-684-0090). A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, when the bakery opens for takeout service, offering a full array of pastries, breads, decorated cookies, pies, cakes and king cakes as well as custom party and wedding cakes. It also offers coffee and sodas. The Covington location serves lunch.

  Nonna Randazzo's is run by Joel Randazzo Forjet and husband Felix Forjet. Joel's father Lawrence Randazzo and his brothers originally opened Randazzo's Hi-Lan Bakery in St. Bernard in 1965. Following Hurricane Katrina, the Forjets moved to the Northshore and opened Nonna Randazzo's Italian Bakery and Cafe in Covington in September 2006.
