The New Orleans Oyster Festival (www.nolaoysterfest.org) returns to Woldenberg Park riverfront June 3-4. There are oyster shucking and eating constests, and more than 20 local restaurants will serve dishes highlighting Louisiana oysters.

The P&J Oyster shucking competition is at noon. Saturday, June 3. The Acme Oyster House oyster eating championship takes place at 11:45 a.m. Sunday, June 4.

The music lineup includes Bonerama, Brass-A-Holics, Luke Winslow-King, Billy Iuso & Restless Natives, Flow Tribe and others.

The festival debuted in 2010 and aims to educate festival patrons about the benefits of Louisiana Gulf oysters and raise funds for coastal restoration efforts.
