Ne-Yo with Jazmine Sullivan

Neo-soul singer Jazmine Sullivan recently scored a hit that seems to have tapped the under-explored market for semi-violent revenge fantasies, and it still enjoys near-constant airplay. "Bust Your Windows" is a hypnotically sexy R&B tango about the cathartic powers of vandalism: "I bust the windows out your car/ And no, it didn't mend my broken heart/ I'll probably always have these ugly scars/ But right now I don't care about that part." In the video, Sullivan also spray-paints the offender's trio of abstract canvases, pours out his impressive-looking wine collection, drops his watch into the fish tank and throws his vinyl records down the stairs.

˜˜As a vocalist, the 21-year-old Sullivan makes up for a lack of straight-up pipe power with a formidable emotional presence. Though she casts herself as a vindictive psycho with lines like "I'm glad I did it 'cause you had to learn" and adds that she also "wrote her initials with a crowbar" — the "S" must have been tough — the effect is disturbingly appealing.

Sullivan is up for five Grammys, and the single hit No. 4 on Billboard's hip-hop and R&B chart and No. 31 on the Hot 100. She opens up for Ne-Yo, a romantic R&B smoothie who is no stranger to the dark side of romance, at least in song: he collaborated on Rihanna's smug and snipey breakup hits "Unfaithful" and "Take A Bow" as well as Beyoncé's similarly themed "Irreplaceable." Tickets $47.50. — Alison Fensterstock
