Angel Olsen
Nov. 4
| With a lilting country spirit and a voice like a shot-down lonesome dove, St. Louis, Missouri, native Angel Olsen is a surprisingly rightful heir to warbling troubadours from Townes Van Zandt to Roy Orbison. Her smoldering second LP Burn Your Fire For No Witness (Jagjaguwar) gets an earned expanded deluxe edition this month. Lionlimb opens at 9 p.m. at One Eyed Jacks.

Pallbearer
Tue. Nov. 4 | Arkansas doomsayer Pallbearer stole the spotlight when it opened for metal crossover du jour Deafheaven at One Eyed Jacks in June. The band has it all to themselves on this tour for sophomore crusher Foundations of Burden (Profound Lore). Tombs and Vattnet Viskar open at 10 p.m. at Siberia.

The Pizza Underground
Fri. Nov. 7 | The Velvet Underground inspired countless bands, including this pizza-focused pseudocover outfit featuring Macauley Culkin. R&B and garage-rocking Ron Jeremy lookalike Har Mar Superstar also performs at 10 p.m. at Freret Street Publiq House.

Purling Hiss
Fri. Nov. 7 | Philadelphia's Purling Hiss — aka Mike Polizze's jangly, sloppy riff factory — blasts blown-out grunge worship, garage pop and ramshackle ballads on September's Weirdon (Drag City), produced by fellow Philly rock 'n' roller Adam Granduciel of The War on Drugs. The band performs with Meatbodies, Giorgio Murderer and Bottomfeeders at 10 p.m. at Siberia.
