Live Music Events (Feb. 3 - Feb. 9, 2014)

Dead Meadow
Tue. Feb. 4 | Washington, D.C., psych troupe Dead Meadow — led by Jason Simon, nephew of Treme creator David Simon — went silent after 2008's Old Growth, its fifth stoner-rock sprawl in eight years. Last year's double-LP Warble Womb reunites the original lineup for a dead-mellow take on the band's wandering bass spirituals. Sunrise:Sunset:, Birthstone and DJ Gris Gris open at 9 p.m. at Siberia.

Sun. Feb. 9 | Athens, Ga.'s country rock-infused Future Birds released second album Baba Yaga, a collection of often plaintive and sometimes foreboding songs, on Fat Possum in 2013. Promised Land Sound and Tedo Stone open at 10 p.m. at One Eyed Jacks.

Russian Circles with KEN mode and Inter Arma
Mon. Feb. 10 | Avant-garde instru-metal band Russian Circles knows that half of noise is silence. On 2013's Memorial (Sargent House), the Chicago outfit finds the darkness in white space. Canadian hardcore kings KEN mode and Richmond, Va.'s Inter Arma open at 8 p.m. at the Parish at House of Blues.
