Marsh Island: All of Lafreniere Park is a dedicated bird sanctuary and Marsh Island abounds in lots of other Louisiana vegetation and animal life. It's a favorite spot for feeding resident swans, ducks and geese. An elevated walkway leads to a gazebo.
Lagoon: The 20-acre lagoon stretches through various areas of the park, and has turtles and several species of fish as well as ducks and geese. Free admission. Park gates are open 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Spray Park:The 4,000-square-foot Spray Park opened last year and features more than a dozen in-ground and above-ground water attractions, including three water cannons. There's a 75-person capacity, and play sessions are 90 minutes. Open seasonally.
Disc Golf: There are 24 holes on the flying disc golf course on the north and east sides of Lafreniere Park. The course is open to the public.
