This night of indie rock features Glasgow, led by the seemingly omnipresent Sam and Jack Craft. They have played violin and cello respectively with everyone from Supagroup to Irma Thomas to Dave Pirner. Sam was also part of the Cajun drone band Hi-Fi Sky with Alexandra Scott and Tim Sommer, both of whom unfortunately have left town. The Craft brothers are string practice majors at Loyola, but they took classes in Tennessee after the hurricane. Since then, they returned to record their second CD with Glasgow, their band that features Sam on guitar and Jack on bass. Along with Andrew Hartsock on guitar and Andy Stark on drums, Glasgow is heavy, with the first CD, STERILE (Red Square), showing more than a trace of early Pearl Jam in its sound. It will be interesting to see how a year as sidemen-on-call affects their sound. Sam has also performed with opening act Silent Cinema, whose music has the sort of quiet, cinematic sweep its name suggests. How often does that happen? Call club for cover.
