Cane & Table (1113 Decatur St., 504-581-1112; www.caneandtablenola.com) — the Caribbean-inspired, rum-soaked cocktail den helmed by the Cure crew — now serves lunch. The menu includes a mix of lunch and brunch-type items, including sandwiches, salads and small and large plates.
"With our historic courtyard, it's really a shame to let it sit there during the day," managing partner Nick Detrich says.
On the lunch menu is a tortilla Vaska — "basically like a six-egg Basque omelet" with changing ingredients from farmers markets, Detrich says. "A lot of the things we serve are meant to be shared, and this is definitely one of them. We coat it with a fried yuca crumble, so it's crispy, and has a wonderful fluffy egg texture, and it's also covered with a delicious buttermilk dressing." For dessert, there's Haitian pain patate, a sweet potato pudding baked in a cast iron pot.
Lunch begins at 11:30 a.m. Saturday-Sunday.
