Pizzas and pies
New York Pizza (4418 Magazine St., 891-2376; www.newyorkpizzanola.com) has moved to a larger location. Meanwhile, the pizza parlor's former spot at 5201 Magazine St. will soon be the new home for Tee Eva's Famous Pies and Pralines (www.tee-evapralines.com), which earlier this year lost the lease to its mural-covered yellow building. Long-time proprietor Eva Louis Perry, better known as Tee-Eva, is passing the torch to her granddaughter, Keonna Thornton, who plans to sell sno-balls, pralines and sweet potato and pecan pies from the relocated shop later this month.
Julie and Julia, the Hollywood production about the late chef and media personality Julia Child, opens nationally this week. To toast her legacy, Bayona (430 Dauphine St., 525-4455; www.bayona.com) serves Child-inspired dishes this week. Through Saturday, Aug. 15, chef Susan Spicer offers three-course dinners, starting at $34.
