Flamingo A-Go-Go opens in Warehouse District

Flashy new bar and restaurant Flamingo A-Go-Go (869 Magazine St., 504-577-2202; www.flamingo-, the latest project from Creole Cuisine Restaurant Concepts (, opened Dec. 1 in the Warehouse District.

  The massive indoor-outdoor space features a 7,000-square-foot patio decorated in what the owners describe as "mid-century kitsch" style, which includes life-size games of Connect 4 and Twister, a flatbed truck that serves as a table seating 24 guests, a mural of flamingos by local artist Becky Fos and plenty of neon.

  Inside, a long bar is equipped with 45 taps that pour beer, wine and batch cocktails. The "Flocktail" menu includes the Flamingo on a Wire (Grey Goose L'Orange, orange juice, elderflower syrup and muddled berries) and the Blue Lightning (Sailor Jerry spiced rum, pineapple juice and blue Curacao) served in a fishbowl.

  The food menu includes appetizers such as the Shrimp A-Go-Go, marinated crab claws, queso blanco made with charred poblano peppers and a tuna poke bowl. Entrees range from burgers to a fried Gulf fish torta and Jamaican jerk-style chicken.

  Flamingo A-Go-Go is open 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. daily.
