DesCours: New Media Installations

comment

Lately the headlines out of New Orleans have turned positive, as a flurry of glowing global news stories recount the leading role played by visual and performing artists in this city's recovery. Now this DesCours contemporary art and architecture collaboration sponsored by the local chapter of the American Institute of Architects continues the momentum with a series of exciting new installations set in some of this city's most secret or neglected locations. Continuing through Friday, more than 19 private and public spaces around the French Quarter, St. Roch and Canal Street feature the innovative visions of more than 23 cutting-edge international artists, as well as live music by great local musicians. Additionally, the St. Roch installations in and around Kirsha Kaechele Projects at 2448 N. Villere St. remain open to the public on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through March 2008.
