Crescent City Con -- the oldest and longest-running science fiction, fantasy and media convention for fans in the Gulf South -- will be holding its last event. "It's been around for 20 years," says Gretchen Uchello, the publicity manager for the event. "It's grown and matured, and it will be missed." The three-day convention will feature a Dance Dance Revolution competition, art shows, a costume contest, and the opportunity to buy all kinds of sci-fi and fantasy collectibles. New to this year will be a cabaret and performances by comedians and belly dancers. The convention also features a charity auction benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation to help children with life-threatening medical conditions. The special guest for the event will be John Billingsley, who played Dr. Phlox on Star Trek: Enterprise (pictured). Other guests will include award-winning novel and comic-book author Peter David, along with Blade creator Marv Wolfman. Admission $45.
