On Dec. 14, Santa won't be climbing down chimneys and chugging glasses of milk. He'll be running from bar to bar in the Warehouse District, chugging something else entirely.
Brace yourself for the third annual New Orleans Running of the Santas, where participants dress up like Santa, drink, run around and then probably drink some more. The seven-block fun run, which starts at the "South Pole" (also known as Barcadia Bar and Grill) and ends at the "North Pole" (identified as Generations Hall) brought out more than 2,000 participants last year, with a portion of proceeds going to U.S. Air Force families.
It's $15 to participate, and though it might seem early to start thinking about Christmas, it's never too early to start thinking about donning your best Kris Kringle and indulging in the best the holiday season has to offer. Sign up and start thinking about your costume; awards are given to the best-dressed.
