Reginelli’s Pizzeria now has nine locations, a new partnership with one of the leading restaurant families of New Orleans and plans for further expansion in Baton Rouge and Houston. But the whole enterprise started back in 1996 with one Uptown pizza shop, at the corner of Magazine and State streets. The growing local chain still has an outpost at that corner, but now it’s right across the street.
After a long renovation, Reginelli’s pulled up stakes at its small, original location and moved to 5961 Magazine St., a former WOW Café & Wingery. The company is still calling this location its flagship, and it’s more than twice the size of the original and has the contemporary décor of the newer Reginelli’s restaurants.
Earlier this year, Reginelli’s and Ti Martin of Commander’s Palace announced a new partnership to develop more pizzeria locations outside New Orleans. They expect to open their first Houston location soon. As part of that partnership, Commander’s Palace wine director Dan Davis revamped Reginelli’s wine list, which now has a greater focus on Italian wines.
