A sneak peek at the studios featured in Art Home New Orleans

There are few pleasures greater than nosing around in someone else's personal space. If that person happens to be an artist, the urge to snoop is even more compelling - there's the sense that something of the creative process will be revealed by the angle of an askew photograph, the aperture of the window's shutters.

This Saturday, Nov. 3 and Sunday, Nov. 4, the Creative Alliance of New Orleans presents more than 40 homes of artists and art collectors on its Art Home tour. Tour hours are from noon to 5 p.m. both days, and featured artists include Bruce Davenport, Rachel David, Nicole Charbonnet, Clifton Webb, Kevin Kline, Christopher Porsche West and Tlaloc Alferez. Tickets are $15 a day. $10 for students, and can be purchased by calling 504-218-4807 or online here.

"You can go to galleries and museums any time, but to meet the artists and see the art in private collections brings out the essence of the city," said a participant from last year's tour, quoted in the event's press release.

Here's footage from last year for an idea of what to expect.
