Its that time again: New Orleans’ Post Jazz Fest tribute to Anthony ‘Tuba Fat’s’ Lacen. Best known as founding member of the Dirty Dozen and for playing with Olympia Brass Band, Tuba Fats is New Orleans' most famous and revered sousaphonist.

‘Tuba Fats Tuesday’ is held every Tuesday after Jazz Fest at Tuba Fats Square on the corner of St. Phillip and N. Robertson in the Historic Treme. The festival goes from 5pm until (moves next door into the Candlelight Lounge at 8pm) and features music by a collective of brass band musicians who claim Tuba Fats as a musical mentor and inspiration who nurtured their careers. Special performance by Treme’s very own Shannon Powell.
