It seems like ages ago now but who remembers the insanity that was the crowds during Lombardi Gras? That's a stupid question, cause who could forget that day?
Well, we're about to do it all over again, people. But this time, there's going to be a game to see in the Superdome. In anticipation for what is likely going to be a nightmare scenario for any unfortunate soul who has to drive in the Downtown area this Thursday, the New Orleans Saints have issued a release urging fans to make more time than usual for the larger-than-average crowds expected around the Superdome and the French Quarter (hit the jump for the full release). To wit:
"the Saints want fans who are attending the game to know that it will be extremely difficult, if not impossible, to attend the NFLs Parade and concert and still make it to their seats for Pre-Game festivities and kickoff, including the unveiling of the Super Bowl Championship Banner."
New Orleans does crowd control better than any city I've ever been in and no doubt the city will pull it together again. But let's not do anything crazy, so plan ahead and be safe people.
Oh and Two Dat! and laissez le bon temps roulez and all that jazz.
